The Oval Partnership
We are an international group of Architects, Urbanists and Designers. We help transform cities to create thriving places where people want to spend their time and live their lives.
As architects, we understand the responsibilities we face in addressing the life-changing impacts of climate change already being felt across the world. We recognise our potential role in averting further global temperature rise and biodiversity loss.
Architecture is fundamentally about our quality of life – people, places, communities, the natural environment, and the planet we inhabit. By looking beyond the now widely recognised limitations of carbon accounting and offsetting, we see an opportunity to enact real, effective, and sustainable change.
We recognize that tackling the climate emergency demands a holistic approach in which people, place, community, the natural environment and the planet are viewed as mutually interdependent systems.
PLACE-MAKING & PLACE-KEEPING
Our long-established skillset spans from the scale of strategic infrastructure to the detail of individual social interactions, all with a focus on connectivity, meaningful human engagement, well-being, and social cohesion.
Central to many of our projects is the intelligent integration and enhancement of biodiversity, based on in depth study of local landscapes, ecologies, and topographies.
Historic assets are the beating heart of many cities and neighbourhoods. We sensitively investigate how to celebrate and interpret their stories whilst securing their long-term future.
We reach out directly to communities, bringing diverse interests together and empowering stakeholders to transform their surroundings, forge sustainability and strengthen well-being and resilience.
MASTER PLANNING, ARCHITECTURE & INTERIOR DESIGN
We deliver high-calibre, sustainable built projects, enhancing the liveability of a place and the wellbeing of inhabitants, securing the long-term value of a community’s social, ecological, and economic capital, at all scales.
Every project begins with a story to envision who will use this environment and how, establishing a bond between a place and its people – who then create their own encounters and experiences.
We use advanced modelling technology to analyse the multi-faceted interactions people have with their built environments, developing a better understanding of the opportunities and constraints within our communities.
We have developed an integrated kit of evidence-based tools to decipher behavioural patterns in existing and proposed environments, enabling us to learn what drives and enriches human interactions across numerous parameters.
Our multi-media design team creates an immersive third layer of user experiences of space and place, dissolving the boundaries between and within physical and virtual realms, helping people navigate and connect with their surroundings.
