We are an award-winning team of architects, heritage consultants, building surveyors and masterplanners. We develop a detailed understanding of context, place and people to create sustainable solutions for our clients. As the world’s largest team of heritage specialists, we unlock opportunities to sustain and enhance historic places and our holistic approach brings together conservation excellence and innovative design. The future of our built heritage has always depended on how it responds to a changing world and for over 75 years we have helped our clients care for and enhance their buildings and landscapes.
We have a long history with Canterbury and Kent and have been fortunate enough to work on some of the most iconic heritage buildings in the city and region. Our team are currently working on projects of varying size and scales, including Canterbury Cathedral and Knole House right the way through to smaller residential and commercial properties. Previous projects include The Dairy and Cobham, for the Landmark Trust, the Historic Dockyards at Chatham for the University of Kent as well as a variety of projects at Sissinghurst Castle.
Our team are very proud to be working on several high-profile cultural regeneration projects which will become a driving force in the economic and cultural revitalisation of the South Coast, a region our team are very happy to call home. We are working on delivering the ambitious scheme for the restoration of Brighton’s Madeira Terrace and are working with a community land trust, Heart of Hastings, to reinvigorate the centre of Hastings. Our Heritage Consultancy team are deeply embedded with Canterbury and are currently finishing the Conservation Area Appraisal Management Plan and World Heritage Site strategy documents, mapping out the future for development and heritage conservation within the historic city, ensuring the city retains its special character whilst being a thriving place for people to live, work and stay.
