Webinar – Blue Infrastructure – Dartford’s Lower Darent Riverside Strategy
How can we support rapid growth and the need for climate resilience in our approach to future development, particularly in relation to blue infrastructure?
Dartford Borough Council, England’s second fastest growing borough, recently published its Lower Darent Riverside Strategy which was undertaken in collaboration with Arup and the Environment Agency. The strategy aligns with the Thames Estuary 2100 aspirations for flood mitigation, and is one of the first of its kind in the south east.
Join Sylvia Synodinou (Principal Urban Designer at Dartford Borough Council), Stefanie Matosevic (Principal Policy Planner at Dartford Borough Council) and Nicole Tarrio (Associate Landscape Architect at Arup) to learn more about Dartford’s bold vision for sustainable riverside development, which acts as a blueprint for integrating nature, people and place.
This webinar will take us through the process, starting with the initial vision and how this came about. We will learn about the core aims of the riverside strategy, the toolkit for applying this to different area types and, crucially, the key lessons learnt from the process, followed by a Q&A.
Presentations will be followed by plenty of time for Q&A and discussion.
