Roundtable: Housing innovation
Innovation in the housing sector tends to be incremental, but the scale of housing growth required in the south east will require a step change in the pace of delivery. This roundtable will focus on the role technology will play delivering this change, modern methods of construction, but also the impact new areas of digital technology like 3d printing. In the past, modern methods of construction have been associated, usually incorrectly, with low quality and this has perpetuated thinking that the public simply will not want to live in pre-fabricated homes. A new generation of designers are transforming those preconceptions; using technology as a means to deliver quality, consistently, matched with outstanding place making. This roundtable will bring together housebuilders, planners and designers to share best practice and to consider how to embed modern methods of construction in new developments across the county.

Dieter Kleiner, RCKa
Lorna Jackson, Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners
The roundtable will be chaired by DSE Director, Chris Lamb, and will use the Chatham House Rule.
