Masterclass: Integrating Design and Sustainability in Planning
Achieving well-designed, sustainable and beautiful places is at the core of national planning policy and guidance. However, at the local level, authorities often struggle to push forward good design.
This online masterclass will explore the tools available to local authorities to deliver on their design aspirations. We will hear from pioneering local authorities and consultants involved in design-led proactive planning. Join us to learn about:
- How Winchester City Council has integrated design into their Local Plan through community design workshops
- Shenley Neighbourhood Plan and Design Code (Finalist, National Urban Design Awards 2021)
- Finsbury Park Station Quarter Design Code (Design Code Pathfinder Programme)
- Lessons learned from design coding with communities and local authorities
- How local authorities can drive climate action.
