Briefing: Water Sensitive Urban Design
Kent Design LUNCH & LEARN – a short series of 1hr webinars for 2023
This Lunch & Learn webinar will explore principles for water sensitive urban design and the use of nature based solutions in new developments and existing neighbourhoods. Climate change and particularly more intense periods of rainfall are significantly increasing the risk of flooding in the south east and so our approach to managing surface water must change. Our guest speaker, Peter Neal, landscape architect and environmental planner, will discuss how we can integrate more sustainable approaches to water management with design for public realm, connectivity, biodiversity, play and SuDS to realise multiple benefits.
Objectives:
- Understand the basics of water sensitive urban design.
- Recognise best practice in multifunctional sustainable drainage.
- Identify opportunities to capture multiple benefits in urban water landscapes.
The Online Learning event will include:
- a live speaker presentation and Q&A
- a member only resource library of ‘watch again’ content, presentations, and further reading
