Gravesham Borough Council Sites
Gravesend, Kent, DA12 1AU
BPTW has been working to design and deliver homes for Gravesham Borough Council for several years. Initially we prepared numerous feasibilities for the council some of which were prioritised and taken forward to be delivered. These included small infill projects at Farlow Close and Tooley Street, two completed schemes comprising of seven homes in total. We also delivered six houses and six bungalows on Packham Road, a scheme that was completed on site in 2018 and is now fully occupied. The development has been very well received by the residents and the local community. We also completed two larger estate regeneration feasibilities for the council, comprising of five sites with approximately 150 homes.
We have successfully secured planning permission for a number of schemes in the area. Such as, St Hilda’s, phase 1 of St Patrick’s Gardens, which received planning permission to redevelop an existing commercial unit into three houses, ten flats and four maisonettes and is currently on site. The second phase of St Patricks Gardens achieved planning earlier this year and will deliver 24 new homes. We recently secured permission for Valley Drive, a scheme that will provide 48 new affordable homes. Comprising two residential blocks, the scheme offers 16 general needs flats, alongside 32 independent living flats intended for over 55’s. Working in close collaboration with the Council, BPTW’s proposal forms part of a wider strategy to address the needs of an ageing population in Gravesend, many of whom struggle to remain in larger family homes but are often left with no option due to a lack of provision for downsizers.
As a result of our work with the Council we have established an excellent working relationship, and together we aspire to deliver high quality homes that respond to the present needs of the local population.
We have always found the partnerships’ approach to be friendly, supportive and willing to engage. This endearing and holistic approach has made BPTW, Gravesham’s partner of choice.
