Meeting to shape our built environment

Introduction to: Drawings for planning and design

This was the first in a series of half-day training events aimed at those early on in their careers who needed an introduction or refresher around some key areas of knowledge. The workshop reviewed different types of plans and drawings that are used to convey design ideas; plans, sections, elevations, sketches, and axonometrics, etc. Included in the hands-on exercises the groups examined drawings that showed proposed developments and those that are placed in a wider context.  There was also a view as to how visuals are used in architecture, urban design and landscape architecture.

This workshop was delivered by Design South East’s David Tittle, Head of Design Advice, and Jade Huang, Design Advisor, with key presentations from Teresa Borsuk, Senior Advisor, Pollard Thomas Edwards.
