Masterclass: Designing for People and Cars
As Kent experiences unprecedented growth one of the most enduring problems is how to accommodate the car while creating new neighbourhoods and centres that are attractive and pleasant to use. The session, led by a leading industry expert, will look at the design of public spaces, streets, highways and junctions; when it is appropriate to mix people and traffic and when to keep them separate; how to keep traffic moving while creating environments that encourage walking and cycling. It will tackle the tricky issue of parking, exploring different solutions and when to use them.
