Introduction to: Water sensitive design

This half-day session will provide an introduction to different approaches to water sensitive design in low and high-density, rural and urban environments, and the contribution these design approaches can make to amenity, biodiversity and play.

The ‘Introduction to’ sessions are aimed at officers and private sector practitioners with limited experience in these areas.

Through workshops and talks by experts in the field, learners will:

  • develop an understanding of the features of different types of water sensitive design
  • develop practical skills to recognise the benefits of different types of water sensitive design and their suitability for projects in different contexts
  • develop an understanding of the impact of climate emergency on water sensitive design problems and solutions
